Jennifer Lanoff, WHNP-BC, MSCP

Jennifer Lanoff, WHNP-BC, MSCP, JD earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, where she received the Mary & Granger Marburg Award for Outstanding Clinical Nursing Expertise and was selected as a Conway Scholarship Recipient. She completed her Women's Health Nurse Practitioner training at Georgetown University School of Nursing. Ms. Lanoff also holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School and graduated with honors from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She practiced as an attorney for over two decades, serving as a Deputy Trial Chief at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, before transitioning to healthcare to pursue her calling in women's health.

Ms. Lanoff is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner and currently serves as Chair of The Menopause Society Education Committee. She serves on the Medical Advisory Committee of The National Menopause Foundation and is a peer reviewer for Menopause: The Journal of The Menopause Society. She is currently co-authoring a Bone Health and Osteoporosis Position Statement on the Role of Hormone Therapy in the Prevention and Treatment of Osteoporosis and a chapter on testosterone use for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinics special edition on menopause. She is also drafting clinician guidebooks for clinicians about how to counsel patients when testing gene positive and lectures nationally on various women’s health subjects and related topics.

Ms. Lanoff is a member of the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health (ISSWSH), The Menopause Society, the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA), the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG), the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP), the American Urogynecology Society (AUGS), and Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health (NPWH). She maintains active memberships in the National Abortion Federation (NAF) and the Society for Family Planning (SFP).

Ms. Lanoff has completed specialized clinical training at leading institutions including IntimMedicine Specialists, Mary's Center, and BirthCare & Women's Health. While at IntimMedicine she trained with Dr. James Simon, the former president of both ISSWSH and the Menopause Society.

Ms. Lanoff specializes in complex gynecological conditions including treatment-resistant endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, advanced menopause management, and sexual health disorders such as hypoactive sexual desire disorder and persistent genital arousal disorder. She has particular expertise in vulvovaginal conditions including vulvodynia, lichen sclerosus, and genitourinary syndrome of menopause. Her practice integrates evidence-based medicine with the analytical rigor developed through her legal training, providing comprehensive care for the most challenging presentations in women's health.

She has practiced across multiple healthcare settings including private practice, community health centers, and telehealth platforms, bringing specialized women's health care to diverse patient populations. Her unique background combining legal expertise with clinical practice allows her to serve as a patient advocate while delivering evidence-based medical care. Her experience in complex litigation and appellate advocacy has enhanced her ability to navigate healthcare systems and advocate for comprehensive women's health services. She brings this multidisciplinary approach to her current practice at Washington Women's Health & Complex Gynecology, where she focuses exclusively on complex gynecological conditions and specialized women's health care.

Ms. Lanoff is actively engaged in advancing the field of women's health through her educational leadership, scholarly contributions, and clinical excellence. Her commitment to evidence-based practice and patient advocacy continues to influence both individual patient care and broader healthcare policy in women's health.
